The Indie Campers Revenue team works across the user lifecycle to develop a compelling global marketplace and community around road trips. We employ data and insights to help us best acquire, engage, serve, monetise and retain travellers and hosts across all of our territories to ensure that our customers are able to go on amazing road trips around the world. The Revenue team consists of our Customer Excellence, Marketing, Supply, Revenue Management and Data teams, so the work you do will depend on your particular blend of skills but will always be customer-centric, data-driven and collaborative as we work on increasing customer choice, value and satisfaction. As Head of Organic Marketing (SEO), you’ll be leading the development and execution of our international organic marketing strategy alongside building and leading a team of dedicated inbound marketing managers and technical SEO specialists to ensure we are able to achieve our aim of building the world’s number one roadtrip marketplace. You will report directly to the Marketing Director, and will form part of the Marketing Leadership Team alongside your colleagues in Performance, Brand, Product & Growth Marketing. You will also be running a team of international and skilled marketing professionals that combine both analytical skill and communication mastery. Your role and team will work closely with every part of the business, including Product & Technology, Customer Excellence, Business Development and Operations to deliver both on organic growth, including strong user engagement and conversion, as well as providing great service and ultimately delighting users.
Own the development and implementation of an organic marketing strategy, with an SEO roadmap and supporting campaign calendar.
Develop and share clear reporting on core input and output KPIs to demonstrate progress towards goals, and ensure alignment across the team and other stakeholders on the execution of the strategy.
Use data to identify opportunities, prioritize initiatives and optimize efforts to drive customer acquisition growth across SEO and inbound marketing.
Optimize SEO on page content, landing pages, resources, and blog content.
Build out and leverage a team of Marketing Managers to identify opportunities for content generation, link building and strategic communication that will drive traffic, authority and brand awareness.
Identify top keywords that drive business value. Respectively set and implement the plan to improve ranking and conversion rate.
Build awareness and discoverability offsite, via outreach and link-building initiatives that will increase brand authority and recognition.
Stay on top and adapt to key trends by keeping track of search engines algorithm changes, competitors initiatives, and industry best practices.
Audit organic growth initiatives, identify issues, test and find solutions to constantly and efficiently improve performance.
Drive innovation in process, automation, and scalability of customer acquisition strategies. Embrace a “test-measure-learn-iterate” approach.
8+ years of SEO experience with a proven track record of driving continuous organic growth
4+ years of experience leading an SEO team and owning the SEO strategy
Experience in working across travel or international ecommerce environments, requiring localisation, multi-domain environments and local SEO tactics
Experience in building a team of organic growth and SEO professionals to meet the challenges and goals in a hyper-growth environment
Experience in project managing development and execution of an SEO roadmap
A deep understanding of both the content strategy side of organic search and the technical optimization side, being well-versed in scaling and setting up both for growth
Experience with Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMRush, Ahrefs, Looker, Buzzstream, Buzzsumo, Screaming Frog, etc.
A strong understanding of technical SEO capable of guiding Dev teams’ technical optimization working with HTML, CSS, Javascript, React, and other frameworks
Possess keen analytical skills, with the ability to turn complex, disparate datasets into insights that drive strategies and solutions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to successfully influence and communicate complex information clearly to other colleagues
Team player with the ability to work and initiate independently
High emotional intelligence and empathy
Fluent in English (mandatory)
